[잡담] 지금 엠비씨 100분 토론에서는

저년오크와 유심히가 나와서 주둥이 대결중입니다

— 자유게시판을 살펴보다가 무릎을 탁 치며…

아직 사이드바도 완성하지 못했고, 폰트설정도 이상하고 여기저기 건드려야 할 곳이 무한히(?) 남아있음에도 불구하고 한 고비는 넘은 것 같아 글을 남겨둔다.

왜 블로그를 이전하려는 생각을 했을까?
아마 가장 큰 이유는 pMachine 의 유료화정책 강화와 그에 따른 불안감일 것이다. 물론 기존의 Free버전은 그대로 유지하겠지만 이제는 유료사용자들을 위한 서비스를 강화할 것이고 그렇다면 Free 버전에 다소 소홀해지지 않을까하는 다소 피해망상적인 불안감이 큰 부분을 차지했다.
그리고 표준의 준수. 리눅스박스에서 깨져 보이는 블로그가 웬지 서글펐다. 고쳐보고 싶었다. validator 수없이 돌려보면서 ‘제길, 차라리 새로 하나 만들고 말지…’ 하며 좌절 할 수 밖에 없었고, 눈을 돌려보니 WordPress가 있었다.

위대하신 구글신의 힘을 빌어 pMachine to WordPress 스크립트를 구하고 – 이 스크립트 뜯어고치느라 고생한 걸 생각하면 … – 기존의 디비가 euc-kr이라 utf-8로 변환하고… – iconv 옵션 하나 때문에 컴퓨터 뽀사버릴뻔 했다. – 대충 테마파일가지 만들어 올리면서 이제 긴 터널의 끝이 보이려고 하자마자 바로 들려오는 WordPress 업그레이드 소식… 좌절….ㅜㅜ

그래도 죽지 않고 여기까지 왔다.
솔직히 이렇게 복잡한 작업이 기다리고 있을 거라는걸 알았다면 이전은 꿈도 꾸지 않았을 것이다.
두어달을 공쳐버렸으니, 이제 슬슬 달릴 준비를 해야지.

가볍게 볼 수 없는 주옥같은 표현.

눈을 들어보니 태양은 완전히 모습을 감추었지만 아직 주위는 환했다.
그 환한 하늘에 별똥별이 꼬리를 그리다 순식간에 사라졌다. 나는 그것을 문자의 죽음과 연관된 특별한 징조나 상징으로 생각하고 싶지는 않았다.
하지만 마침 떨어지며 소멸되는 그 빛을 내가 볼 수 있었던 것은 특별한 우연 일 수도 있다.
인생도 저 드넓은 우주처럼 신비스럽고 또 새롭고 놀라운 일이나 특별한 우연도 항상 간직하고 있을 것 같았다.

Draft를 올리면서.. 원 post는 ‘김모씨의 이중생활’. 그러나 오늘은 약간 감상에 젖어도 무방하다.

make world 후에는 꼭 한두가지 문제점이 발생하는데 이번엔 named 였다. 안그래도 sendmail+bind 에서 qmail+djbdns로 전환하려는 계획을 가지고 있었기에 이번 기회에 djbdns를 설치하기로 작정, 짧게나마 삽질의 흔적을 남겨둔다.

# cd /usr/ports/dns/djbdns && make install clean

의존성때문에 daemontools, ucspi-tcp 이 같이 설치된다.

삽질의 시작은 /usr/local/etc/rc.d 에 svcscan.sh 가 있음에도 프로세스가 올라오지 않는다는 사실에서부터였다… OTL
이리저리 머리 굴리며 svscan.sh start 해줘도 반응이 없길래…

# supervise /var/service/dns/

수동으로 실행시켜주고 종료.. -ㅅ-;; daemontools 에 대한 약간의 조사가 더 필요할 듯. 이 상태로 qmail까지 건들기에는 무리가 있다.
현재로서는 빠른 반응에 만족하고 있는 중이다.

왜 자꾸 uptime에 눈이 가는건지…

아무런 의미없는 숫자에 불과하다는 사실. 머리로는 수긍이 가는데, 마음은 아닌가보다.

Solaris 머신 보드 망가지기 전 기록했던 260여일의 uptime 이 자꾸만 떠오른다.

아무런 도움도 되지 않는 이놈의 망상.

왜, 도대체 왜 uptime 따위에 집착하는 것인가?
